The Performance Body Exterior Team is seeking an independent, empowered and passionate body exterior engineer to support the Exterior engineering of an upcoming cutting edge, track-oriented vehicle program. JOB DESCRIPTION Lead the design, release, and delivery of Body Exterior components and systems for Ford Performance Manage Quality, Cost, Weight, Function and Timing (QCWFT) to support program & engineering GPDS milestones Lead FSS (Full Service Suppliers) and/or other internal/external resources to deliver subject programs Assure conformance to the Ford Performance DNA all applicable & regulatory requirements Develop innovative solutions for performance vehicles Support issue resolution and design change management during the prototype build and launch builds Interface and maintain collaborative relationship with Core Body Exterior Engineering Organization Support current production and quality efforts
Skills Required:
-Body Structures, closures, or interior D&R experience may also be considered -2 Years of experience using CAD or other visualization tools -Understanding of program delivery processes / GPDS Working knowledge of Teamcenter, VisMockup, CATIA, DFMEA, FEDE, FEDEBOM, WERS -Fabrication/mockup skills to demonstrate proof of concept -Independent self-starter that can connect analytical tools with physical hardware and vehicle performance -Passion for performance vehicles
Skills Preferred:
Experience Required:
2+ Years of experience in Body Exterior Design & Release, including delivery of 1 completed program
Experience Preferred:
Launch experience preferred
Education Required:
Bachelors of Science in Engineering required
Education Preferred:
MSME preferred
