Job Description

Mass Properties Engineer Experienced engineering position for a high-achieving, highly motivated individual. • Develop a system of analyzing option requirements of a program. Develop the option analysis required to build the option structure necessary for program development and successfully meeting regulatory needs. • Perform Mass Property predictions utilizing Company processes for parametric and analytical methods • Determine the mass distribution and inertia characteristics that are primary inputs for all subsequent modeling and analysis, including Structural, NVH, Ride and Handling, Crash and Rollover Safety • Provide mass calculations for Vehicles Loads and ground reactions in various loading conditions • Manage data in support of legal labeling and spring selection • Perform calculations of all Masses and Ratings required on Regulatory Load Rating Labels and for legal Homologation for global markets • Mentoring fellow engineers to promote knowledge and growth • Develop and deliver global platform and vehicle mass strategies to optimize customer attributes and Fuel Economy / Emission/ Safety certifications simultaneously in multiple global markets ¿ • Develop CAE models to predict future vehicle / commodity systems ideal states, utilizing statistical, deterministic and parametric modeling techniques • Work with interfacing commodity engineering activities to ensure successful implementation of optimized design and attribute solutions. • Complete in-depth analyses of competitive vehicles to develop forecasts of attribute performance, future capabilities and changing industry standard technologies

Skills Preferred:

Experience Required:
3-5 years experience in an Engineering discipline (i.e. Internship) or demonstrated application of engineering skills as a research assistant / project leader within the degree program
Experience Preferred:
5 years experience in Engineering discipline (i.e. Internship) or demonstrated application of engineering skills as a research assistant / project leader within the degree program
Education Required:
Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial) or Bachelors of Science in Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science Education
Education Preferred:
Masters of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial) or Masters of Science in Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science
