Job Description

Perform DPA5 Electrical feasibility analysis on upfront vehicle platform between UNV0 and UPV2 Support design and packaging reviews prior to UNV0 Review and update new product feature SCCAF documentation to ensure adequate controls are implemented to prevent assembly quality issues Perform P-Release validation for all Electrical subsystem components prior to handoff. Implement and deliver new products that meet Electrical Global Manufacturing Requirements (GMRs) Incorporate standard tooling and facilities (Standard Cells) for new electrical assembly processes for ZFF (Zero Fault Forward) strategies Deliver Manufacturing Delivery Quality Operating System requirements for Electrical Subsystem Collaborate with Product Development team to generate facility & tooling feasibility, improve quality, and reduce labor requirements Complete PFMEA analysis for critical new electrical features Lead identification, resolution, and closure of FAE feasibility issues Lead identification, resolution, and closure of all launch product and tooling issues through the DCV build. Review “Lessons Learned” from New Model launches and implement Prevent Reoccurrence Actions into future programs Support Department Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Morale, Environment, and Innovation (SQDCPMEI) initiatives Drive innovation across all parts of DPA5 process to reduce inefficiencies and improve performance and accuracy of feasibility checks and assessments Assist other team members with initiatives to improve upstream engineering assessments of new technologies Review latest quality assurance technologies and try to implement portions into the testing and validation of assembly processes at Ford Generate new ideas to improve upon existing (legacy/traditional) processes within Manufacturing Travel within US, Canada and Mexico for installation, launch support and issue resolution which may be up to 70% of dedicated onsite time
Skills Required:
Experience working effectively as part of a team and with all levels of personnel Strong Project Management skills and result oriented Mindset Strong computer skills (Excel, Power Point, etc.) 3D CAD review abilities (Teamcenter, VisMockup, CATIA, or equivalent) Understanding of PFMEA and failure mode avoidance principles Strong verbal & written communication and presentation skills Demonstrated ability to operate in stressful situations within timing constraints A history of successfully working with minimal direct supervision and able to tackle time sensitive issues Working knowledge of statistics (control charts, data collecting, etc.) Highly motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to think “outside the box” to generate feasible and beneficial solutions to tackle complex problems One or more years of experience with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook) Ability to work with all levels of personal Systems Engineering (Electrical and Mechanical) skills
Skills Preferred:
5+ years of experience in Automotive Manufacturing Engineering and automotive assembly tooling, processes and facilities
Experience Required:
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization in auto industry Familiarity with the plant environment and plant operations
Experience Preferred:
Vehicle Engineering, Plant Operations (Assembly or Powertrain)
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Education Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
